We Follow the Kinsey/Albrecht System:
A handful of healthy soil is teaming with life. This soil life has been created to work for you. In a healthy balanced system, synergy is created, that is the Whole is greater than the sum of the Parts. When a soil is brought into balance, the problems most farmers have come to expect as routine (weeds, insects, disease, moisture issues (run-off or standing water), hard to work soils, availability of nutrients, low stress tolerance, low quality, slow dry-down, yield limitations, etc), all have a way of becoming insignificant.
Is it no wonder that there is very little emphasis in this approach to agriculture. If our soils were truly healthy, inputs needed would become MINIMAL. Understandably, this isnot the course industrial agriculture has chosen to follow.
We are committed to assisting in the production of nutrient dense crops, which requires a different path.
Dr. Albrecht said that “true science should be repeatable.” With that in mind, we channel all of our soil samples to the Kinsey Agricultural Services in MO. (Neal Kinsey was mentored by Dr. Albrecht and has committed to adhering to his system to the letter.) We understand the results and use them very confidently in making the recommendations needed to correct any specific soil.
OUR APPROACH is to determine the most limiting factors, whether they be in short supply OR in excess, based upon the soil report. Much like an ER at a hospital, many soils have similar issues, but each one is distinctly unique.
Taking into consideration your fields cropping and management history, we will create a listing of what it would take to balance a particular soil. We will evaluate the approximate acreage associated with that sample.
We then move into the next mode of how that might be achieved most cost effectively taking into consideration all factors specific to your operation. Dependent upon your objectives, this may often be a plan covering three to five years. The main concern is that you are continually moving TOWARD Balance and not away from balance.
Once we help create a game-plan for the purpose of regaining balance in your soil, we will address, if needed, the nutrients you will need to provide for your upcoming crop (like oxygen to a patient who’s lungs are healing). It is important that you remain profitable throughout your corrective period, which means supplying the needs of the plant in the short-run.
Most of our growers understand that the soils they are working with did not get out of balance over-night, and to get them corrected is likewise not an overnight process. We strive to help all of our relationships understand, what we are doing and why. Our best clients are the ones who have taken on that challenge.
Once we have mapped out a soil nutrient fertility agenda, we can assist in acquiring what is needed. This is not automatic, however is available for those who need or want some assistance.
